HOW TO APPLY
The City of Benicia is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer at both the lateral and entry level on a continuous basis. Testing will be conducted on an "as-needed" basis in order to maintain an eligibility list from which future vacancies will be filled. The City of Benicia will only give the entry level/cadet test usually once per year.
If you are interested in taking the exam sooner, the Napa Valley College Police Academy administers the test on a monthly basis, free of charge. If you take the exam there, submit your score to the City of Benicia, along with your application, and if you pass with a score of at least 46, you will be eligible to advance straight to an oral board interview at the City of Benicia. Visit the College website at nvccjtc.org (click on Police Academy Entrance Exam) or call their 24-hour information line at (707) 253-3250 to inquire about taking the test at NVCC.
