MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen at the time of application
- be a Missouri resident within one year of the date of appointment
- no felony record or serious misdemeanor record
- must hold a valid driver's license from any state at time of application and possess a valid driver's license on date of appointment
- be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment
- possess a high school diploma or GED
- be Missouri POST certified
- must have had an honorable discharge from the military, if applicable
- may not have participated in a Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department hiring process within the past twelve (12) months


SELECTION PROCESS
- National Police Officer Selection test
- oral interview
- interview with Mayor and Chief of Police
- drug screening test
- background investigation
- medical examination
- physical agility test
- psychological test
- Twelve (12) month probationary period from date of appointment
