$50,100 - $68,826


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- have no felony convictions
- cannot be on probation for any offense on the date of the civil service test
- No applicant may be certified as eligible for appointment to the position of police officer whose drug usage does not comply with those standards set by the City of Grand Prairie Civil Service Commission
- possess a valid Texas driver's license and have no more than two events (moving violations or accidents) in the 24 months preceding the date of application. Out of state applicants may apply, but must obtain a Texas drivers license upon employment with the city
- be at least 21 but no more than 44 years of age
- 60 accredited college credit hours from an accredited college or university. (Accreditation must be from one of the six regional associations of colleges and schools as follows: MSACHE, NEACHE, NCACHE, NWASC, SACSCC or WASC);
   OR
   Three years military experience with an honorable discharge;
   OR
   Be eligible for certification from TCLEOSE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standard and Education) and two years of experience as a regulary, full-time peace officer for a city, county, state or federal law enforcement agency (Military Police experience is not considered regular full-time peace officer experience)

HOW TO APPLY
All applicants must provide the following documentation at time of application:
- Birth Certificate (original or certified copy) &
- College Transcript (college transcripts must be originals or certified copies) OR Copy of Peace Officer License
- Form DD-214 - Applicants with military service will have 5 points added to their raw test score provided they submit a DD-214 stating an Honorable discharge
