- be a U.S. citizen
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 21-50 years of age
- vision at least 20/70 uncorrected in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye
- must have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit
- vision must be 20/70 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected, not color blind
- written entrance exam
- oral interview
- polygraph test
- drug screening test
- background investigation
- medical examination
- physical agility test
- psychological test
HOW TO APPLY
Only those candidates passing the minimum qualifications and supplemental questions on the online application, will receive an email from the Human Resources Department with further instructions about the deadline date (1/31/2020) to submit the following required documents:
Copy of valid Driver License
Military form: DD214 member 4 copy (if applicable)
5 extra points will be added for those who have served 180 days of active duty, received an honorable discharge and make a passing grade (70 or better) on the written exam.
Physical Agility Test: Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. (CST) (check in 7:30 A.M.)
Testing location to be disclosed at a later time
After the Civil Service exam, those candidates with a passing grade of a 70 or above, will participate in a physical agility test on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. Information regarding this test can be found by clicking the link below:
A POLICE QUESTIONNAIRE PACKET WILL BE HANDED OUT AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE WRITTEN EXAM AND THE PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST ON SATURDAY.
OFFICIAL college transcripts in a sealed envelope from the college or university will be required at a later date for candidates having passed both the written and physical ability exams.
