MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 21 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or GED
- must have completed an Alaska Police Standards Council approved academy within the last three years
OR
- must be currently serving as a certified police officer recognized by the State of Alaska
OR
- must have served as a certified police officer within the last twelve months
OR
- must possess a Bachelor�s Degree in Criminal Justice or Police Management
SELECTION PROCESS
- written entrance exam
- oral interview
- polygraph test
- drug screening test
- background investigation
- medical examination
- physical agility test
- psychological test
HOW TO APPLY
Opportunities to be a law enforcement officer do arise from time to time, thus we will take applications anytime. The applications will be held for a period of one year and if during that time an opening occurs, those applications currently on file will be considered. After one year, your application will be removed and you then must complete another if you want to have one on file. You can download the application form here.
