MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen or have applied for U.S. citizenship before application for police officer
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 21 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or GED


SELECTION PROCESS

HOW TO APPLY
City application forms, completed in full, are required, as well as an original, current (issued within 30 days of application) DMV driving record printout. The application form can be downloaded at the Human Resources website. Selected candidates will be invited to a written examination, which will last approximately two hours and thirty minutes. This standardized, multiple choice test includes sections on report writing, reading comprehension, memory and observation, and reasoning ability. Those receiving a passing score on the examination will be placed on an eligible list that may be good for up to one year.
