MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 19 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or GED
- possess 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university. The 60 college credits will be waived for applicants with at least 2 years prior Law Enforcement-related experience or 2 years active military duty.

Candidates must also process through the Police Applicant Screening Service (PASS) at the SPC Allstate Center, Suite 135, 3200 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, Florida 33711. Their telephone is (727) 864-3822. This screening includes a written examination, administrative interview and background investigation. To expedite the hiring process, please begin your processing with PASS as soon as possible. The Police Department will reimburse the basic Public Safety Applicant Screening fees upon hire as a Police Officer with our agency.
