HOW TO APPLY
The Houlton Police Department is currently accepting resumes for a full-time law enforcement position. The Town of Houlton is a service center community with a population of 6600 residents. Located in pristine northern Maine and at the I-95 terminus, the town of Houlton is the county seat and gateway to Aroostook County.
Applicants who are not BLETP or Basic School graduates must possess a law enforcement pre-service certificate from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. Applicants must also hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license, a high school diploma or GED equivalent and pass a physical fitness test (MCJA standard). Final applicant will undergo an extensive background investigation, polygraph exam, psychological testing and drug screening. Lateral entry in pay grade is available to qualified full-time law enforcement candidates. Qualified law enforcement officers located outside of Maine are encouraged to apply. The Town of Houlton offers a competitive salary, excellent benefit package and a lateral entry option commensurate with experience.
