$13.30 per hour
DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, a police officer patrols an assigned area in the city in the prevention of crime and enforcement of law and order; answers calls in cases where criminal action is involved or suspected; maintains security in the City's court; and performs other related work as required. Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to: writing investigative reports; issuing citations and making arrests; taking descriptions of wanted persons and stolen property; intervening in public and private disputes to protect the public and maintain order; investigating crimes committed by and against juveniles; appearing in court as a witness; escorting and transporting prisoners to jail; and performing other related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 21 years of age
- Prior to appointment, the applicant must provide proof of: completion of a Missouri POST Certified Academy, and graduating with at least 600 hours of POST credits. Candidate must be at least 21 years old at time of appointment; a United States citizen at time of appointment; possess a U.S. High School Diploma and; possess a valid Missouri driver's license at time of appointment.
